Two non-offensive alternatives to the term “spirit animal”
- Daemon - The only one you’re appropriating is Pullman and by appropriating Pullman you’re upsetting no-one, save possibly the Pope.
- Patronus - Wizards everywhere are more than willing to lend you this term and the geekiness is an added bonus. I just read that geeks are sexy, or so the Metro, so, there you go, a patronus is clearly your next ascribed accessory.

Spirit animals tend to be bastardized by 13 year olds on deviantART but a spirit animal is NOT a Daemon.
Spirit animals tend to be a part of a person’s spiritual beliefs. Some Daemians (people with Daemons) aren’t spiritual at all.
Daemons are a mental construct, not spiritual.
Some Daemians take a spiritual approach, some believe they are, in a sense, guardian angels. Other’s it’s just personality typing and mental dialogue.
A Patronus is a fictional thing altogether, as far as I know.
